Overview of Renewal of Trademark Registration
A trademark is a type of intellectual property right that an owner can use to set himself apart from his competitors’ goods and services. It offers the owner a brand name. It is a symbol, a picture, or any emblem with a ‘R’ at the bottom or end of the image. The Trademark Act of 1999 governs trademark renewals. The trademark must be distinct and free of any harmful content, and it must not include any parts of the national insignia. Renewal of a trademark is a straightforward process that can be completed in a few steps.
All Intellectual Property Rights are registered for a specific amount of time and for a specific period of time. It’s the same with trademarks. The trademark awarded to any establishment is valid for up to ten years under the Trademark Act of 1999. Renewal of a trademark, on the other hand, can be done in a specific way. The process for renewing a trademark is similar to that of registering a new one. The applicant must submit a trademark renewal application along with all other papers. The trademark renewal might be offered if the application and documentation are complete.
